Technical Sales Representative

The Technical Sales Representative (TSR) is a fully remote role responsible for coordinating sales activities within the assigned territory, creating added value for the customer with a clear focus on increasing market share, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

This role will cover the state of Iowa.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the development and implementation of account plans and growth actions within the assigned region/territory

  • Define sales targets for assigned accounts and ensure targets are achieved through structured follow-up utilizing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool

  • Provide solutions for customer businesses that align with volume, mix, and profitability targets

  • Monitor competitor activity and ensure appropriate action is taken

  • Build long-term customer relationships and ensure service needs are fulfilled

  • Network through active participation in industry association events and committee assignments

  • Work closely with other departments, including manufacturing and logistics, to ensure customer service needs are met

  • Identify bottlenecks in service delivery and work within the company to resolve issues

  • Coordinate sales activities with team members in business development and application specialists

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or other relevant field required

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in sales or an operational role within construction and/or concrete industries

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills

  • Technical aptitude for construction products and their application, with significant experience in concrete production or construction

  • Ability to understand customers' business needs and propose appropriate solutions

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to balance prospecting, selling, and account management

  • Experience collecting and analyzing data concerning customer behavior to understand changing market needs

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Effective problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office tools and CRM systems

  • Collaborative, solution-focused approach with strong communication and customer relationship-building skills to maintain existing business and support new customer opportunities#LI-ME1-

Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $81,500 to $126,500 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 5% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $85,575 to $131,925.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.-

Plus quarterly incentives are earned based on sales performance criteria.
