Senior Data Platform Engineer Required Skills & Experience- 5+ years of hands-on data platform / data infrastructure engineering experience Snowflake — production experience with warehouse sizing, RBAC, resource monitors, database/schema design, and cost governance Databricks — production experience with workspace administration, cluster/compute policies, Unity Catalog, and job orchestration AWS — production experience across core services (IAM, S3, VPC/networking, KMS, and compute) Terraform — proven ability to author, modularize, and maintain production IaC across multiple providers CI/CD — experience building and operating automated pipelines that plan, validate, and apply infrastructure changes Proficiency with Git-based version control and branch-based workflows Nice to Have Skills & Experience- Experience integrating the Snowflake and Databricks Terraform providers specifically (not just AWS) Policy-as-code tooling (OPA / Sentinel / Checkov) for pre-apply guardrails Programming proficiency in Python or Go for automation and tooling Data orchestration exposure (Airflow / MWAA, dbt, or Databricks Workflows) FinOps / cloud cost management experience across data platforms Prior work standardizing IaC across multiple teams via shared module libraries Relevant certifications: SnowPro, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, AWS (Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer), HashiCorp Terraform Associate Job Description We are seeking two Senior Data Platform Engineers to design, build, and maintain cloud-native data infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role sits at the intersection of data platform engineering and DevOps, responsible for standing up and operating our Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS environments entirely through Terraform, with fully automated CI/CD delivery pipelines. The ideal candidate treats infrastructure as a software product: version-controlled, tested, peer-reviewed, and deployed without manual intervention. Target start date for both positions is October 1st. Core Responsibilities Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Build and maintain reusable, versioned Terraform modules that provision Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS resources Manage remote state (locking, encryption, workspace isolation per environment) Keep environment configuration (dev/stage/prod) DRY and parameterized Integrate the Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS Terraform providers into a cohesive, dependency-aware workflow CI/CD & Automation Design pipelines that run format, validate, plan, policy checks, and gated apply on every change Implement automated testing and drift detection for infrastructure Enforce peer review, plan-output review, and approval gates before production applies Integrate secrets management and least-privilege service credentials into the delivery pipeline Platform Engineering & Operations Provision and govern Snowflake (RBAC, warehouses, resource monitors) via code Provision and govern Databricks (workspaces, Unity Catalog, cluster policies, jobs) via code Build the AWS foundation (networking, IAM, encryption, storage) supporting both platforms Implement monitoring, cost visibility, and alerting across all three platforms Own reliability, security posture, and incident response for platform infrastructure This position is 2 days a week onsite in Greenwood Village CO and will pay between $50-$60 per hour Insight Global
