OT - Long-Term Care | Day Shifts + Loan Repayment

Location: Avera Majestic Bluffs / Avera Sister James Care Center, United States Job Type: Regular Shift: Primarily days with possible weekends, evenings, or holidays Pay Range: $34.00 – $51.25 per hour (actual pay varies with experience) Position Highlights Student Loan Repayment Program: monthly extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera to help pay down your principal faster. Overview Responsible for the daily coordination and delivery of occupational therapy services that focus on conditions and health diagnoses. Implement specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups according to occupational therapy principles and departmental objectives. Responsibilities Demonstrate knowledge of age‑specific factors and perform satisfactorily with patients from infants through geriatrics, following unit guidelines and competencies. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment programs for patients requiring services using data from patient records, interviews, observations, and team members. Use selected activities and/or tasks to promote and maintain health and achieve treatment goals. Establish and modify intervention goals and strategies based on ongoing evaluations. Provide direct therapy services in various functional settings and strategies. Plan therapy within each patient’s individual physical, emotional, and intellectual capabilities, coordinating with rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans. Prepare required documentation (evaluation results, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports) as mandated by profession and department. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other disciplinary team members regarding status, progress, and needs. Establish rapport and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members (including family and physician) throughout the patient’s intervention program. Participate in educational programs, current literature, in‑service meetings, workshops, and share new knowledge with co‑workers. Evaluate and monitor clinical internship with students from affiliated universities or colleges. Participate in program development within the department. Qualifications Must be able to work the specified hours. Must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including adequate visual acuity, hearing, understanding of speech, and effective communication. Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice (required). Preferred: 1–3 years of clinical patient care experience.
