About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate complex cardiac and thoracic surgical cases including adult heart and lung transplants, Type A dissections, CABGs, valve repairs/replacements, TAVRs, and related procedures
• Provide skilled perioperative nursing care across a high-acuity CVOR environment supporting cases such as LVAD, Impella, ascending/descending aortic procedures, and more
• Participate in on-call rotation, including weekend and holiday call coverage as required by department needs
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Wear a radiation badge at all times during applicable procedures (badge provided by agency)
• Be prepared to participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June through November), with peak activity in August and September

• Active South Carolina RN license or multi-state RN license - must be in hand at the start of the contract
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required; first-time travelers to this setting accepted only with 5 or more years of CVOR experience
• Ability to independently circulate complex cardiac and thoracic cases
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis

• Experience with a broad range of cardiothoracic case types including transplant, LVAD, Impella, and aortic procedures
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, or Magnet-designated hospital
