Ultrasound Sonographer: Patient-Focused Diagnostics

Job Summary and Responsibilities Performs ultrasound exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director; Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test. Performs complete diagnostic imaging test inclusive of positioning patient, equipment management, and documentation of findings. Perform ultrasound exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director. Prepare equipment ensuring that it is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards. Problem‑solve equipment failure and imaging quality, and contact service representative or CES regarding equipment problems. Ensure daily equipment and room maintenance are performed before, during, and after each procedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards. Complete all quality checks and ensure that equipment logs are maintained. Job Requirements Education & Experience Associate’s Degree preferred. Active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or ARRT. CPR/BLS certification. Where You'll Work St. Luke’s Health – Patient Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake.
