We are in search of a highly motivated candidate to join our talented Team.Job Title: Network Security Analyst 1Location(s): Austin, TX Job Summary A public-sector transportation agency is seeking a Network Security Analyst I to support cloud vulnerability management, security remediation, and compliance initiatives. This role focuses on identifying, assessing, and remediating security vulnerabilities across cloud infrastructure and platform services to reduce enterprise risk, maintain compliance, and improve overall cloud security posture.The selected candidate will work closely with cloud operations, security, application, architecture, and risk teams to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed within established service-level agreements and according to change management procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze vulnerability findings identified through approved security scanning and assessment toolsAssess vulnerability applicability and risk impact across cloud infrastructure, platform services, and supporting componentsExecute remediation activities including:Security patchingConfiguration updatesSystem hardeningImplementation of compensating controlsValidate remediation efforts and verify successful vulnerability closurePerform cloud-based patching and update activities using approved operational proceduresImplement security configuration changes when vendor patches are unavailableCreate and maintain remediation records, change requests, and audit documentationEnsure compliance with change management and approval processesProvide remediation status updates and supporting evidence for audits and security reportingSupport temporary mitigation strategies when permanent fixes are not immediately availableCollaborate with security, cloud architecture, operations, and application teams to resolve complex vulnerabilitiesIdentify recurring issues, process gaps, and remediation blockersRecommend improvements that strengthen cloud security and reduce technical debtRequired Qualifications3+ years of professional IT experience with hands-on exposure to:Cloud infrastructureSystem administrationVulnerability remediation3+ years supporting cloud-hosted systems in an enterprise cloud environmentUnderstanding of:Vulnerability remediation methodologiesSecurity patchingConfiguration hardeningCompensating controlsExperience working with IT service management and change management processesStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skillsAbility to follow established security and remediation proceduresEffective verbal and written communication skillsStrong collaboration and teamwork abilitiesPreferred QualificationsExperience with enterprise vulnerability management programsFamiliarity with remediation SLAs and compliance requirementsKnowledge of:Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)Security baselinesRisk reportingRelevant cloud or cybersecurity certificationsKey SkillsCloud SecurityVulnerability ManagementSecurity PatchingRemediation EngineeringConfiguration HardeningChange ManagementRisk AssessmentCompliance SupportCloud InfrastructureSecurity OperationsDocumentation and ReportingCross-Functional CollaborationIdeal Candidate ProfileThis role is best suited for a junior-to-mid-level cloud security professional with experience supporting enterprise cloud environments and vulnerability remediation efforts.
