Continuous Improvement Specialist

ATI is currently looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist at our Cudahy, WI location. The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for assisting and facilitating efforts to continually improve and standardize business processes, identify and implement best practices, and establish metrics on the shop floor. As a successful Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will work with both bargaining unit and administrative employees in addressing opportunities for continuous improvement and will be expected to apply the principles of Lean Manufacturing to improve processes, product quality, and employee knowledge. Summary Champion, mentor, and facilitate the task standardization processes. Communicate and support the ATI strategic vision, principles, and annual objectives across the organization ensuring course correction and alignment is continuously taking place. Integrate leadership skills with Lean Manufacturing principles and expertise to guide and train employees at all levels of the organization in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement. Develop standards for all aspects of an operation: operator training, incoming material requirements, process parameters, process supplies, equipment condition, task performance, and final product quality requirements. With input from employees and managers, assist in the identification and implementation of the best practice for each operation or process. Ensure that appropriate and adequate training of personnel is conducted and maintained. Identify and eliminate waste in processes and practices. Facilitate 5S events and train employees regarding the benefits of an organized workspace. Facilitate Kaizen events and train employees regarding the benefits of a standardized and disciplined approach to the job. Audit operations and processes for strict adherence to standard practices. Assist in the resolution of production, equipment, and system problems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Assist in the revision and development of standard work. Benchmark against other internal and external companies. Basic Qualifications A bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, or business discipline. A minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial setting. Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of utilizing lean 6 Sigma methodologies and practices. Essential Skills Demonstrated ability to be a potential leader. Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
