Accounting Associate

PrideStaff is currently seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join a growing administrative service provider in the Clearwater area. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to apply their bookkeeping skills in a collaborative team environment.

Job Summary: In this role, you will support daily accounting operations with a focus on cash receipts, disbursements, and general journal entries. You will ensure accurate recording of collections, maintain cash logs, and assist with month-end financial balancing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and input cash receipts, cash disbursements, and journal entries into the general ledger.
• Process incoming payments, lockbox items, and remote deposit captures.
• Maintain and reconcile cash logs and Excel spreadsheets against the general ledger weekly and at month-end.
• Collaborate with internal teams to research payment inquiries and process account adjustments or reversals.
• Perform data entry, scan documents, and organize digital files for monthly record-keeping.
• Reconcile and track daily and weekly claims registers and maintain corresponding logs.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping preferred.
• Up to 2 years of practical accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Background or familiarity with the insurance industry is helpful, but not required.
• Solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, and accurate 10-key data entry skills.
• Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time-management capabilities.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to adapt well in a team setting.
