The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is a progressive business regulatory state agency dedicated to the mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate. The department administers state laws and rules governing workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial institutions, insurance companies and building codes. The department has consumer protection and education programs, offices, and ombuds to help consumers, injured workers, and businesses. This position is with the Workers' Compensation Division (WCD). WCD administers, regulates, and enforces the laws and administrative rules governing the Oregon workers' compensation system. This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The incumbent may occasionally be asked to work from the office or remote worksites on an as-needed basis. Here’s what you will do: As an Auditor, you will develop, evaluate, lead, and perform multiple and diverse performance audit programs to monitor and regulate the workers' compensation industry, and ensure public funds are disbursed properly by reviewing payroll and financial records. On-site and virtual remote audits, ranging from simple to complex, are conducted at claims processing locations. You will also act as a resource to the workers' compensation industry, providing training and consultation relating to workers' compensation issues. Here’s what you need to qualify: Minimum Qualifications: Four years of experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action, or decide compliance with program guidelines and regulations. Two of the four years must be above the technical support level. Note: college-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years. Additional information: Per the Pay Equity Law passed in 2017, an employee pay assessment will be conducted to determine what pay step the successful candidate will be offered. The assessment will be based on the relevant experience, education, training, and certifications documented in the application materials. On average, candidates new to state service will most likely be offered compensation in the lower to mid-level of the salary range. The salary range listed is the non-PERS eligible rate. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible after 6 months of employment, the salary range will increase by 6.95% and the required 6% employee retirement contribution will be deducted from your pay.
