About the Role: Are you an accounting professional ready to step into a leadership role that truly runs the engine of a growing construction business? Altitude Energy, a rapidly growing leader in the powerline construction industry, is seeking a driven and experienced Accounting Operations Manager to join our team. This is a critical, high ‑ impact role responsible for ensuring the day ‑ to ‑ day financial operations of the company are accurate , disciplined, and reliable. You will own the accounting workflows that support job costing, accounts payable, invoice approvals, and cash flow forecasting — allowing leadership to operate with confidence and clarity. This is not a clerical accounting role. We are looking for a process ‑ driven leader who understands how accounting, operations, and cash flow intersect in a project ‑ based environment. Job Title : Accounting Lead Division/Department : Accounting Location : Keenesburg, CO Admin and Management P ositions : In Office Full Remote Mix of Office and Remote Pay : $70,000 - $8 0 ,000 annually, depending on experience. Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or closely related field Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance operations experience (construction or job‑cost environment strongly preferred) Technical Skills: E xperience with accounting systems (Foundations experience a plus) Background Check: Criminal & public record search Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Essential Skills, Duties and Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Invoice Approval Workflow Own the full accounts payable workflow from invoice intake through approval readiness Ensure all invoices are complete, accurate , and properly coded before entry into the accounting system Enforce invoice approval timelines with Project Managers and General Foremen Manage disputed invoices end ‑ to ‑ end and ensure timely resolution Maintain clean and accurate AP aging and vendor records Monitor the impact of accounts payable on cash flow Job Cost Coding & Data Integrity Ensure all AP and credit card transactions are coded to the correct job, cost code, and cost class Serve as the quality ‑ control checkpoint for job cost accuracy Partner with Operations and Project Controls to resolve coding or cost allocation issues Support consistent, reliable job cost reporting for leadership and project teams Cash Flow Forecasting & Reliability Maintain a rolling cash flow forecast based on AP, AR, payroll, and known commitments Prepare and present regular cash flow updates to the CFO with clear explanations of changes and risks Identify upcoming cash pressure early and communicate proactively Support leadership with accurate , timely information to guide payment timing and financial decisions Accounts Receivable Oversight Oversee accurate application of customer payments Maintain clean AR aging and support collection efforts as needed Collaborate with billing and operations teams to resolve discrepancies Systems, Process & Team Leadership Utilize Foundations software for financial reporting, job costing, and accounting processes Ensure accurate data entry and reconciliation within accounting systems Train and support team members in effective system use and process adherence Seek opportunities to optimize workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and strengthen internal controls Coordinate effectively with internal staff and outsourced accounting partners Strong ownership mindset and accountability Process ‑ driven and detail ‑ oriented , with the ability to see the bigger picture Confident communicator who can professionally hold others accountable Calm under pressure and solution ‑ oriented Forward ‑ thinking and proactive Leads by Altitude Energy’s Core Values and promotes a positive, collaborative culture Essential Safety Requirements Adheres to and promotes Altitude’s safety culture as a core value.
