You'll meet people where they are—at workplaces, community events, outreach programs, neighborhoods, and other community settings—to build the relationships and trust that open the door to better health.

As a Community Health Worker, you'll serve as a public health advocate, peer educator, and patient navigator , helping men understand their health, connect with primary and preventive care, overcome barriers to treatment, and access physical, behavioral, and mental healthcare services. You'll play a vital role in reducing health disparities and improving outcomes by bringing healthcare beyond the walls of the clinic and into the community.

We're looking for someone who is approachable, relatable, comfortable starting conversations, and passionate about helping others. You don't need a traditional healthcare background. Experience in community outreach, agriculture, manufacturing, public service, behavioral health, peer support, healthcare, coaching, ministry, or other people-centered roles may prepare you well for this position.

Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are strongly encouraged to apply and receive additional compensation.

Why Kinston Health?

We offer:

  • 3 weeks of paid time off
  • 11 paid holidays
  • 4% dollar-for-dollar 401(k) match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Opportunities for professional growth while making a lasting impact on the health of our community
You Must:
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a valid North Carolina driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Be comfortable working directly in the community and engaging people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Have evening and weekend availability. (Schedules are planned in advance—no surprise schedule changes!)

If you believe better men's health begins with trust, conversation, and meeting people where they are, we'd love to hear from you.
