Sr Director, Software Engineering HR Domain

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering, plus 10+ years of applied experience.
• We need 5+ years of experience leading technologists to anticipate and resolve complex technical challenges within the domain.
• We look for deep experience delivering technology across benefits, payroll, mobility, or HR in a large, highly regulated global enterprise spanning the U.S. and multiple countries.
• We require hands-on and leadership-level expertise in Java and Python development on AWS, including serverless and cloud-native design patterns.
• We need strong full-stack capability, including modern front-end development such as React and TypeScript, plus API-first design with GraphQL and REST.
• We look for proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, Pipeline as Code, and automated CI/CD, with security and control automation embedded in pipelines.
• We require demonstrated experience building highly secure code with guardrails suitable for a heavily regulated industry.
• We need proven delivery of end-to-end integration and automation between vendor systems and payroll, as well as legacy-to-cloud migration experience, including PeopleSoft, with strong data integrity and controls.
• We look for experience managing large vendor ecosystems, including onboarding, application ownership, risk management, and performance tracking.
• We require experience leading large, cross-functional technology teams and influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations to deliver value at scale.
• We need experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models, including governance, measurement frameworks, and secure handling of sensitive inputs and outputs.
• We look for deep understanding of responsible AI risk, controls, and resiliency/security expectations at scale, with the ability to advise senior leaders on safe adoption and portfolio governance.
• Preferred experience includes building MCP servers and tool/function-calling backends for agentic and conversational interfaces.
• Preferred experience includes managing agentic workflows and AI-assisted development with approved tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• Preferred experience includes containerization and orchestration, such as Docker and Kubernetes, plus GitOps-based deployment on AWS.
• Preferred familiarity with Global Mobility platforms and expatriate payroll, business travel, and tax models.
• Preferred experience modernizing enterprise integrations using API-led and event-driven patterns, interface test automation, observability, and leading globally distributed teams.
• Preferred executive-level communication skills, including presenting to and influencing senior executives.

• We own the end-to-end technology strategy and delivery across Global Benefits, Global Mobility, Business Travel, and Expatriate Payroll & Tax, including the vendor ecosystem and governance.
• We drive the migration of U.S. pension technology from legacy PeopleSoft to modern, secure, cloud-native platforms while protecting data integrity, controls, and operational stability.
• We deliver end-to-end integration and automation of benefits data into and out of payroll to enable touchless payroll across countries, currencies, and regulatory regimes.
• We lead technology for Global Mobility and expatriate payroll, business travel, and tax support, partnering with HR, Benefits, Mobility, Finance, and Operations to turn needs into prioritized roadmaps.
• We set the engineering standard across the portfolio, including custom full-stack development, serverless and cloud-native AWS design, Infrastructure as Code, Pipeline as Code, and automated CI/CD.
• We champion secure-by-design and compliance-by-design practices by embedding automated controls, security scanning, and policy-as-code into delivery pipelines.
• We direct responsible adoption of AI-enabled engineering, including agentic workflows, AI-assisted development, and MCP-based conversational services, with strong safeguards.
• We serve as the primary point of contact for senior leaders and executives, building alignment across competing risk, regulatory, operational, cost, and modernization priorities.
• We lead, hire, and develop large cross-functional engineering teams while reinforcing our culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
• We set and scale multi-department strategy for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation to improve speed, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• We define portfolio-level standards for AI-orchestrated delivery workflows, release governance, automated test modernization, resilience engineering, and incident response acceleration.
• We apply knowledge of software development life cycle tools, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to drive reuse and measurable capacity gains across departments.
