Pharmaceuticals, Drugs, and Biotechnology Specialist (Intelligence Analyst 3) Location: Washington, DC, District of Columbia, United States Requisition Number: 29040 Required Travel: 0-10% Employment Type: Full Time/Salaried/Exempt Anticipated Salary Range: $96,131.00 - $135,000.00 Security Clearance: TS/SCI Level of Experience: MidHI Who We Are HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a mid‑level specialist to serve in The Office of National Security (ONS), within the Immediate Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This role falls under the Intelligence Division and will focus on providing intelligence analysis and support related to the Pharmaceutical, Drugs and Biotechnology portfolio to senior HHS leaders. What You Will Do The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting all‑source analysis; providing and supporting briefings to senior personnel; developing effective working relationships with HHS principals and addressing their intelligence requirements; identifying emerging risks within the assigned portfolio; coordinating and collaborating with federal partners; and participating in relevant working groups and interagency meetings. Additional duties include performing tasks common to an intelligence analyst position, such as delivering briefing support and producing tailored intelligence products. What We Are Looking For 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's in a related field; 3 years of experience with a master's in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience TS/SCI Clearance Understanding of the U.S. biotechnology industry and associated risks Expertise in licit and illicit drugs, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, supply chain issues related to pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, regulatory and policy issues, foreign biotechnology developments, biomanufacturing, and bioeconomy‑related issues Ability to assess source reliability, identify assumptions, distinguish facts from judgments, and evaluate alternative explanations Provide trend analysis based on pattern recognition, synthesizing fragmented information, and identifying critical gaps Research and collection skills, including knowing relevant data sources, prioritizing intelligence requirements, and identifying key questions Brief senior leaders on critical updates, key trends, and appropriate context while attributing sources and conveying uncertainty Intelligence acumen, including knowledge of IC partners, appropriate classification, and technical writing skills Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Preferred Requirements Ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities and demands Experience interacting with customers and/or functional peer groups involving matters between functional areas, other divisions or units, or customers and the department Familiarity with Security Classification Guides (SCGs) and Classification Management Tool (CMT) 1 to 3 years of experience in technical writing or editing with at least one year working in the Intelligence Community Physical Requirements Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment The listed salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on the role’s location, expectations, and responsibilities.
