Group Lead Material Control

Position Overview Location: Stuart, FL. Workplace Category: On‑site. Travel Required: none. Direct Reports: none. Pay Range: $23.00 - $32.00/hr. Visa Sponsorship: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. As part of the Operations team, you will coordinate efforts to verify that all inventory control strategies are correctly and efficiently implemented within the material handling function. You will support the Production Supervisor with day‑to‑day management of the material processing area, oversee a group of members, ensure efficient operations, and meet business targets. Essential Functions Daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with company procedures Carry out incidents, accident and non‑conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and records on appropriate systems Promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member understands the standards and behaviors expected of them Communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) from the strategic annual plan to employees Provide product expertise within the team and respond to team members’ queries Work positively with support functions to fully define the processes, procedures and controls relevant to team activities Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the team Complete data entries and utilize appropriate systems Ensure engineering documentation is accurate Ensure daily goals and targets are met; provide daily or weekly targets to the team according to production schedules Manage daily, weekly and monthly inventory reporting; regularly communicate findings (verbally and documented) Ensure accurate and efficient flow and organization of materials via interdepartmental relationships Investigate and solve problems resulting from material shortages and inventory discrepancies Perform production and inventory audits on a regular basis Provide monthly status report on aging inventory in coordination with supply chain Audit transaction history for accuracy; improve processes related to material picking, inventory control and production team efficiency Conduct and provide inventory trend analysis; identify changes for process improvement Support all departments that rely on internal movement of inventory Follow and maintain cycle counting program; explain variances over pre‑determined thresholds and recommend process changes to prevent recurrences Oversee and manage on‑site training for warehouse personnel (direct supervision, recruitment, performance management, and training) Maintain physical condition of inventory by planning and implementing new design layouts (slotting) considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored Operate forklift and other equipment to move and store materials and supplies during high demand periods Oversee shipping, receiving and kitting functions as applicable; communicate with the Production Supervisor All other duties assigned as requested Required Qualifications Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems Experience with cycle counting, root cause analysis and training Slotting and inventory management experience Demonstrated problem‑solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues Strong communication skills; ability to interface with a wide range of employees to meet departmental goals Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Experience with MS Office Lean Six Sigma and 5S principal experience preferred Ensure full adherence to 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices Ensure equipment is within calibration date and all systems function correctly Ensure all records are completed appropriately Ensure non‑conforming material is clearly identified and segregated Ensure the escalation procedure for quality concerns is followed Ensure achievement of production throughput against stated capacity targets Manage work order closures and stock control transactions Maintain visible lead for adherence to procedures and instructions Monitor line set‑up efficiency; prepare line set‑ups for following shifts including first‑piece buy‑offs Monitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools; conduct continuous training and development Conduct root cause analysis and resolve problems; identify business improvement opportunities Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department Follow hazardous waste guidelines and functions Preferred Qualifications Prior leadership experience in manufacturing Dedicated to personal safety of everyone Positive, can‑do attitude;
