Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ED for adults, pediatrics, and geriatric patients, including rapid assessment and triage.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, start IVs, perform airway management, and assist with stabilization of acutely ill or injured patients.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff; participate in care coordination, patient and family education, and discharge planning.
- Document care and orders in the designated EMR (EPIC); ensure accurate handoffs and continuity of care.
- Float to related units as needed; adhere to unit protocols and infection prevention standards; maintain patient safety and quality metrics.
- Manage common ED presentations (e.g., stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial events, respiratory failure) and utilize unit resources such as rapid infusors or specialized equipment as indicated.

Requirements
- Active New York Registered Nurse license (NURSYS verification required)
- Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
- ED experience: minimum 2 years; some pediatric experience preferred; travel experience required
- EMR experience: EPIC proficiency required
- Eligibility for travel: must be willing to travel; locals within 75 miles may be considered at local rate
- Documentation: up-to-date resume; RTO requested at time of submission
- Shift flexibility and ability to work in a high-acuity ED environment
