Required
- 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 AM)
- Orientation: October 2 or morning of October 3
- Coverage Dates:
- October 3 (AM) - October 11 (AM), 2026
- March 6 (AM) - March 15 (AM), 2027
- No clinic coverage
- Call-only assignment
- Active Texas Medical License
- Board Certified OB/GYN
- OB/GYN Residency
- Minimum of 5 years of OB/GYN experience
- Hospital-based OB call coverage
- Approximately 4-5 patients per day
- 40-50 deliveries per month
- No scheduled inductions unless supporting the Certified Nurse Midwife
- Few high-risk pregnancies
- Level II NICU with onsite Neonatologist
- Maternal-Fetal Medicine support available by phone
- High-risk patients over 34 weeks are generally transferred
- One Certified Nurse Midwife
- Hospitalist, Pediatricians, Intensivist, and Anesthesia support available
- Labor & Delivery coverage
- Emergency Department OB/GYN coverage
- Hospital consultations
- Management of spontaneous labor
- Backup coverage for Certified Nurse Midwife as needed
- Vaginal deliveries
- Cesarean sections
- Emergency gynecologic surgery, including:
- Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
- Ectopic pregnancy surgery
- Laparoscopic procedures
- Robotic gynecologic procedures
- Paragon
