Since 1974, Sassomeccanica has been engineering equipment for the natural stone and quartz industry, and our Houston-based team keeps that equipment running for customers nationwide.We're looking for a Field Service Technician who's ready to get hands-on with sophisticated CNC machinery and become the face of Sasso USA at customer sites all over the country. This isn't a desk job — it's a role for someone who likes solving real mechanical and electrical problems, working independently, and being the person a customer is genuinely glad to see walk through the door.What you'll doInstall, commission, and calibrate 5-axis CNC saws, sawjets, and automated polishing lines at customer facilities across the U.S.Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC/PLC control issues on-sitePerform scheduled preventive maintenance visits to keep customer equipment running at peak performanceTrain customer operators and maintenance staff on proper machine use and upkeepProvide phone and remote troubleshooting support between site visitsDocument every visit clearly — findings, parts used, and recommendations — so the Houston team stays in the loopWork closely with our parts and service team in Houston to source parts and pre-diagnose issues before you arrive on-siteRepresent Sasso USA with professionalism and pride — you're often the only company contact a customer sees in personWhat you bring2+ years of hands-on experience with industrial machinery, CNC equipment, or mechanical/electrical troubleshootingWorking knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC-controlled equipmentComfort reading electrical schematics and mechanical diagramsA valid driver's license in good standingWillingness to travel extensively (50–75%) across the U.S., including overnight and multi-day tripsAbility to perform the essential physical functions of the role, which include lifting up to 50 lbs and working in shop-floor environments (climbing, kneeling, and working in tight spaces); reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilitiesMust be legally authorized to work in the United States; Sasso USA does not provide visa sponsorship for this roleStrong communication skills — you'll be representing Sasso USA directly with customers, often without backup on-siteNice to have (not required):Experience servicing stone, tile, quartz, or other natural stone fabrication equipmentCNC programming or PLC experience (Siemens, Fanuc, Allen-Bradley, or similar)Bilingual English/SpanishPrior manufacturer-specific technical training or certifications
