EMC Test Technician - Electrical Testing

2nd shift - 2:30 PM-11:30 PM

Client is seeking a qualified EMC Technician to perform Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory in Troy, Michigan.

The ideal candidate will have an educational background in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field , along with the ability to read schematics, follow technical procedures, fabricate test harnesses and fixtures, and operate electrical test equipment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform EMC tests according to laboratory procedures, test plans, industry standards, and customer specifications.
• Receive, identify, and prepare test samples according to laboratory procedures.
• Complete training on laboratory test methods and become independently capable of performing assigned tests.
• Perform testing according to documented test plans and applicable standards/specifications.
• Fabricate test harnesses, load simulators, and test fixtures for EMC testing.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, test instructions, standards, and procedures .
• Maintain accurate and organized test records and documentation.
• Follow the laboratory's quality management system.
• Participate in internal quality audits and third-party assessments.
• Immediately identify and report any nonconforming work .
• Participate in laboratory team meetings.
• Complete assigned Corrective Action Requests (CARs) .
• Suggest improvements to laboratory testing and quality processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and methodical work environment.

Required Qualifications :

• Associate Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field , or equivalent experience.

• Ability to fabricate test harnesses, load simulators, and test fixtures .
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Basic to strong computer literacy.
• Organized and detail-oriented work habits.
• Ability to maintain accurate and precise records.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience using electrical and electronic test equipment, including:

• Oscilloscopes
• Digital Multimeters (DMM)
• Power Supplies
• Spectrum Analyzers
• Other electrical/electronic laboratory testing equipment
