Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardio-Pulmonary Stepdown

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Pay Rate: Competitive Pay (Depending on Experience)

Job Type: Contract

Shift: Night Shift

Schedule: 3 x 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours Per Week

Contract Duration: 8 Weeks

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Cardio-Pulmonary Stepdown Unit. The RN will provide specialized nursing care to patients requiring cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and complex medical management. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and experience caring for stepdown-level patients in an acute care setting.

Required Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License

• Diploma of Nursing required

• Current BLS Certification (AHA)

• Current ACLS Certification (AHA)

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

• Ability to provide age-specific and culturally competent care

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN preferred

• Stepdown, telemetry, cardiac, respiratory, or progressive care experience

• NIH Stroke Scale Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardio-pulmonary stepdown patients.

• Monitor patients requiring telemetry and cardiac monitoring.

• Care for patients with acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, CHF, and other cardiac diagnoses.

• Provide care for long-term ventilator-dependent patients.

• Administer medications, infusion therapy, transfusions, and injections.

• Perform central line care and infection prevention measures.

• Support patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, and APAP therapies.

• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate care appropriately.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge care.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

• Deliver care consistent with nursing standards, ethics, and scope of practice.
