Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardio-Pulmonary Stepdown Unit (Night Shift)

Location: Cincinnati, OH
Shift: Night Shift | 12-hour shifts | 3 shifts/week (36 hours/week)
Schedule: Every other weekend required

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Cardio-Pulmonary Stepdown Unit in an acute care hospital setting. The RN will provide specialized care for adult patients requiring cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and complex medical management. This role requires strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage high-acuity stepdown patients in a fast-paced environment.

The RN will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for telemetry and stepdown-level patients

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respiratory status

• Administer medications, IV infusions, blood products, and treatments

• Provide care for patients on BiPAP, CPAP, and APAP support

• Manage central lines and infection prevention protocols

• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition promptly

• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in medical records

Required Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license

• Diploma in Nursing required

• Current BLS certification (AHA)

• Current ACLS certification (AHA)

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

• Ability to provide age-specific and culturally competent care

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN preferred

• Stepdown, telemetry, cardiac, ICU, or progressive care experience preferred

• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred per unit requirements
