Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: State License preferred Certifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by a recognized body or equivalent specialty laboratory certification.

Must-Have:

• Experience in Chemistry
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to troubleshoot laboratory instruments
• Availability to work 2 full weekends in a row followed by 4 weekends off

Description:

The Medical Lab Technician supports high-quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory. You will prepare specimens for testing and perform routine and specialized laboratory tests. Quality control and troubleshooting of errors are key responsibilities. You will also perform maintenance procedures and recognize and evaluate computer data problems. Communicating technical information to medical staff is essential. You will assist in training laboratory personnel in routine procedures. Participation in continuing education is encouraged. You will recognize normal and abnormal values in test results. Modeling standards of behavior in daily interactions is expected. This position requires flexibility, especially during emergency situations. Hurricane season may require assignment to emergency response teams. Travelers are advised to confirm availability during this period.
