WHAT WE'RE DOING Our team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies. THE WORK This position will perform some or all of the following duties, concentrating on early-phase (concept, requirements, and design) activities of the Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle: 1.Lead the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs, acquired through documentation and solicitation, into easily reviewable technical approaches. 2.Perform requirements elicitation and decomposition using behavioral artifacts such as use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams to convey understanding of the required behaviors and performance of the system under development. 3.Lead the development of physical and logical system models capturing the system under development utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools. 4.Lead system interface development, as captured in Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs), by converting system and interface requirements into message-level details sufficient to coordinate interface development. 5.Support formal and informal engineering technical reviews. 6.Create, review and critique interface documents, system requirements, verification documentation, architectural documentation, and engineering estimates. 7.Interface with key stakeholders, including the MDA customer and working-level counterparts, as-required. 8.Participate in Agile development planning and execution, including iteration planning and status reporting. Mentorship opportunities Basic Qualifications A final secret clearance is required for consideration. Experience in an integrated team, covering the full Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle. Proven experience interacting directly with customers to elicit needs and define requirements. Hands on work with missile defense, space defense (Space Domain Awareness), or other similar space mission elements. Proficiency in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as Cameo, etc. Desired Skills Strong prior experience with use of MSOSA (Cameo) and DOORS. Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, suborbital mechanics, etc.). Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems (e.g., aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.). Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, etc.). Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
