Job Description and Duties

OFFICE TECHNICIAN (TYPING)– AUDITS OFFICE / HEADQUARTERS

The reporting location for this position is 704 O Street in Sacramento , California. This position will work under the general supervision of the Supervising Management Auditor.

The Department of Parks and Recreation Audits Office seeks to hire a qualified and motivated Office Technician. The incumbent will perform a wide range of clerical support duties requiring a working knowledge of various software programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams. Maintains a tracking system and generates project status reports. Composes memos and letters for Audit Chief’s signature including proof reading for grammar, punctuation, and format. Ensure proper distribution of reports and correspondence.  Maintains files of a confidential and sensitive nature. Reconciles travel, purchasing, and other charges to ensure proper accountability and accuracy.  Research and corrects discrepancies.  Tracks personnel matters including timekeeping and training.  Receives and screens telephone calls, Audits Office emails, and maintains adequate office supply level.

Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute and provide a valid typing certificate prior to appointment.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as telework eligible - office centered.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. • The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
