Senior Cost Accountant – Oxnard, CA

We are supporting a long-standing aerospace and defense manufacturer in Oxnard that is looking to add a Senior Cost Accountant to its finance and accounting team.

This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for cost accounting, inventory, COGS, manufacturing variances, gross margin analysis, month-end close, revenue recognition, audit support, and process improvement.

What our client is looking for:

• A Senior Cost Accountant with 6+ years of progressive cost accounting experience
• Strong manufacturing cost accounting background
• Experience with inventory, COGS, gross margin, and manufacturing cost variances
• Aerospace, defense, government contracting, or CAS experience strongly preferred
• Strong month-end close experience related to inventory, cost of sales, revenue recognition, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Oracle ERP and advanced Excel experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX, internal controls, and ASC 606
• CPA preferred but not required

• What you’ll be doing:
• Maintaining and improving the cost accounting system
• Leading inventory, COGS, and revenue-recognition close activity
• Preparing journal entries and reconciliations
• Analyzing gross margin, inventory, and manufacturing variances
• Supporting CAS, GAAP, SOX, ASC 606, and audit requirements
• Partnering with operations and finance leadership
• Recommending process improvements to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency

Location: Oxnard, CA

• Schedule: Fully on-site, Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Compensation: Competitive base salary depending on experience
