Job Title Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Location Wilmington, NC Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | 36 or 48 hours per week accepted | 13–20 week contracts Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5–6, caring for diagnoses including diabetes, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, anemia, encephalopathy, hip fracture, and COVID-19 Perform telemetry monitoring including remote monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and use of Rapid Response Team protocols Manage IV therapies including heparin, PCA, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, and central/PICC/peripheral line care Provide wound care, wound vac management, colostomy care, feeding tube care, and pre/post hemodialysis management Manage non-invasive airway support including CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and oral suctioning Float within or near the facility as needed and participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events or disasters Required Qualifications Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact nursing license Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry Current BCLS certification Must pass EKG testing prior to start Proficiency with telemetry remote monitoring, isolation precautions, phlebotomy, and starting IVs Availability for full hospital orientation during week one, including required daily classes Preferred Experience / Skills Experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring, port access, tracheostomy management, surgical drains, and ABG interpretation Familiarity with CVA patient care and insulin management Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records Experience managing patients with COVID-19 in an isolation setting Why Join Us First-time travelers are welcome, offering an excellent opportunity to launch your travel nursing career in a supportive clinical environment Flexible contract lengths of 13–20 weeks with options for 36 or 48 hours per week to suit your scheduling needs Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 773056.
