Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory agency requirements. The position supports acute care departments including Medical, Surgery, Emergency, Intensive Care, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term objectives.
• Apply new knowledge from ongoing education to improve practice and promote cost-saving measures.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Demonstrate evidence-based practice to enhance workplace skills and patient outcomes.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
• Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
• Engage in professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications required upon hire and maintained thereafter.

Licensure:

• Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state board.

Work Shift: First shift, 40 hours per week.
