$16 an hour with a valid Arizona driver's license.

About the role:

This position is offered primarily as Full-time position. Opportunities may be offered for part-time or On-call positions but will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Our Day programs are open Monday-
Friday and closed for any federal holiday. The Day Program Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing compassionate care, support, and engagement to individuals with developmental disabilities. The DSP creates a nurturing and inclusive environment, facilitates meaningful activities, and promotes members personal growth and community involvement.

Responsibilities:

Member Care and Support

• Foster positive relationships with members, offering emotional support, companionship, and assistance during day program hours.
• Assist members with personal care, communication, and social interactions while promoting their independence and dignity.

Activity Planning and Facilitation

• Collaborate with Day Program Supervisor to plan, organize, and lead a diverse range of activities and workshops.
• Design activities that align with members interests, developmental, goals, and individualized care plans.
• Guide and encourage members to actively engage in activities, fostering their cognitive, emotional and physical well-being.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate and thorough records of members' attendance, progress, and accomplishments.
• Complete required documentation, incident reports, and any necessary paperwork promptly and according to organizational procedures.

Health and Safety

• Ensure participants' safety, comfort, and well-being by adhering to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Administer medications and follow healthcare plans as directed, ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.

Individualized Care and Support

• Implement individualized care plans, behavior support strategies, and therapeutic interventions tailored to each participant's needs.
• Encourage participants to express preferences, make choices, and work towards their personal goals.

Community Engagement

• Accompany members on community outings, recreational activities, educational visits and social interactions.
• Foster members social skills, community integration, and positive interactions with others

Interpersonal Skills

• Cultivate respectful and trusting relationships with members, ensuring their emotional wellbeing and comfort.
• Communicate effectively with members, families, colleagues, and external partners.

Professional Development

• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills in developmental disabilities, behavior management, and person-centered care.
• Stay informed about industry best practices, regulations and emerging trends.

Requirements:

• A least 18 years of age.
• A High School diploma or GED.
• Able to obtain Arizona State level one fingerprint clearance.
• Able to obtain certifications for CPR/First Aid, Article 9, and Prevention and Support.
• Experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities is preferred
• Eligible drivers must have a clean 39-month MVD report and have a valid AZ Driver License, if not meeting the requirement, credential to transport the company vehicle. Your pay rate will be adjusted to the Arizona minimum wage.
