Construction Manager

Responsibilities Oversee all construction activities from inception to move‑in, managing job sites, scheduling, and supervising trade partners to ensure adherence to project timelines and scopes of work. Conduct twice‑daily home walks to monitor progress, uphold quality standards, and maintain schedule compliance while optimizing profitability. Supervise all construction activities on homes from start to finish, including pre‑construction meetings, pre‑drywall meetings, and final presentation meetings. Negotiate solutions raised by inspectors and trade partners to ensure cost‑effective resolutions that support budget adherence and Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP) by identifying efficiencies and best practices. Manage daily trade partner communications and invoice approvals through Build Pro, ensuring timely notifications, workflow efficiency, and accurate payment processing. Provide trade partner feedback to the Lead Construction Manager concerning timeliness and attention to detail, influencing trade partner relationships. Ensure job site cleanliness, safety, and adherence to state and federal building codes to mitigate compliance risks and avoid violations. Maintain accurate safety logs, conduct regular on‑site safety meetings, and proactively address regulatory concerns to uphold legal and operational standards. Perform Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan inspections as required by county, state, and federal guidelines. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required for the construction process, including approving change orders, purchase orders, and safety logs. Collaborate with internal teams—sales, customer care, and management—to ensure effective communication and problem resolution. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. 3–5 years of experience in home building or construction, with experience in residential construction management required. Strong organizational, time‑management, and interpersonal skills. Tech‑savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Build Pro, Procore, and other construction management software. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and valid auto insurance coverage. Knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and the ability to read blueprints. Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Physical and Site Requirements Regular, in‑person attendance at company communities, job sites, and offices during normal work hours is essential. The role requires working more than eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, operating a motor vehicle, reading plans, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, moving, or carrying equipment that may exceed 50 pounds, occasional operation of construction equipment, and finger dexterity for computer use. Compensation & Benefits The base salary for this position ranges from $68,640 to $98,473 annually, subject to adjustment based on qualifications and geographic pay differentials. The role may also be eligible for bonuses and commissions.
