Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg / Telemetry - $1,531 per week

Fusion Medical Staffing – Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a 13‑week assignment in Shelby, North Carolina. The role focuses on delivering patient‑centered care in medical‑surgical and telemetry units, monitoring cardiac telemetry, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities The nurse will: Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, ensuring understanding Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely Conduct comprehensive assessments, document changes and report concerns to the care team Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians, and monitor responses Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical or surgical conditions Document patient information, including vital signs and care outcomes, in the medical record Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans Prioritize care based on acuity and clinical needs, managing multiple patients efficiently Adhere to infection control practices, hand hygiene and PPE usage Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences Facilitate discharge planning with patients, families and external resources Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Follow hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines and regulatory standards Qualifications One year of recent Med Surg/Telemetry RN experience Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification Preferred: NIHSS certification, ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification, and other relevant certifications and licenses Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence and strong interpersonal communication skills Proficiency in reading, writing and communicating in English Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; basic PC skills Physical stamina to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lb), push, pull and bend Interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse personnel Motor skills for fine manipulation and assistance with procedures Mental resilience under pressure, ability to work both independently and under supervision, and ability to maintain concentration with irregular schedules Visual acuity and effective communication ability Benefits Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance with first‑day coverage Paid time off (PTO) after 1560 hours Life and short‑term disability 401(k) matching Refer‑a‑friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs *Fusion is an EOE/E‑Verify Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
