Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides compassionate, expert care to women during childbirth and postpartum. They collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safe delivery experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health status and labor progress to develop individualized care plans.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs continuously using electronic fetal monitoring.
• Provide patient education on childbirth, postpartum care, and breastfeeding support.
• Administer medications and interventions following clinical protocols and safety standards.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including fetal distress and complications during labor.
• Document all clinical assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Montana RN license valid for the applicable work location.
• Successful completion of American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) provider certification, with recertification every 2 years.
• Demonstrate competence in electronic fetal monitoring and modified primary nursing.
• Possess at least one year of labor and delivery experience.
• Completion of two hours of cerebrovascular (stroke) education.
