Field Service Technician

Overview ZEISS is a global company with a long history in science and technology. The role supports customers by installing, repairing, troubleshooting, servicing, and calibrating advanced measuring instruments. This position may require travel within the region and a period of training before performing field service independently. Responsibilities Engage in a comprehensive approximately 3-month in-field and classroom training program to develop the skills and tools needed for success. Travel to customer sites in your region to install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate advanced measuring instruments. Work hands-on to learn new skills on high-tech Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using mechanical and electronic aptitude. Document service work and maintain accurate service records. Opportunity for growth and rapid promotion after training. What We Are Looking For Minimum high school graduate, GED, or equivalent. Technical school, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Electronics, Industrial Mechanics). Military technical school training and experience is acceptable. Experience with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment. Microsoft Windows operating system knowledge. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted. Able and willing to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including overtime. Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment. Valid driver’s license required. Nice To Haves Experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems. Previous CMM installation and troubleshooting experience preferred but not required. Compensation and Benefits Base pay: Annual base pay range for this position is $52,000 – $65,000 (approximately $25–$31.25 per hour). OT: Average overtime is 10 hours per week and paid at time and a half; travel time is paid. Annual bonus program: eligible for an additional bonus at year-end. Company vehicle available for personal use. The pay offered may be influenced by factors such as location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, and talent availability.
