Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Smartphone to communicate with physicians via an app. Proficiency in nursing skills such as IV starts, blood draws, NG tube placements, ECG rhythm interpretation, lab and ABG interpretation, critical care drips and titrations, management of ventilators, arterial lines, chest tubes, and central venous lines. Assisting physicians with bedside procedures and conscious sedation. Ability to effectively communicate with patients and families. Description: This position involves working in a critical care environment with adult and geriatric patients. The role requires floating between critical care units and may include responsibilities in various departments based on staffing needs. Patient ratios are generally 1:2 to 1:3 in critical care, with higher ratios in step-down and med-surg units. The unit is equipped with advanced monitoring systems and devices, including ventilators and CRRT machines. Common diagnoses treated include respiratory failure, strokes, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, and post-operative care for GI disorders. Candidates should demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills, especially in high-pressure situations. All required online learning assignments and certifications must be completed. Dress code requires royal blue scrubs; neutral-colored solid shirts are permissible with specific guidelines.
