Operations Manager

Compensation: $100,000 - $110,000 Base Salary + Bonus Opportunity Employment Type: Full-Time Overview We are seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager to lead a high-volume logistics and warehouse operation in the Bolingbrook area. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational performance, developing teams, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a safe and efficient distribution environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong operational expertise with excellent people leadership skills. Success in this role requires a hands-on management style, the ability to build strong customer relationships, and a proven track record of achieving results within a fast-paced warehouse or third-party logistics environment. Key Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring service, quality, safety, and productivity objectives are achieved. Manage operational performance through KPI tracking, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and manage site budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement corrective actions when necessary. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and solution-oriented problem solving. Develop, coach, and mentor supervisors and team members to support employee growth and organizational success. Oversee inventory accuracy, warehouse flow, space utilization, and operational efficiency. Create a positive, accountable, and engaged work environment that promotes employee retention and performance. Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. Drive process improvements that support operational excellence and enhanced customer service. Partner with senior leadership to execute strategic initiatives and achieve business objectives. Oversee facility operations, maintenance coordination, and equipment readiness. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. 10+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or 3PL experience. 5+ years of leadership experience managing supervisors and frontline teams. Proven ability to lead customer-focused distribution operations. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational metrics. Demonstrated success improving operational performance through process optimization and continuous improvement. Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Experience using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office applications. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Preferred Experience Third-party logistics (3PL) leadership experience. Multi-shift warehouse or distribution operations leadership. Experience supporting complex customer accounts. Lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives.
