This role focuses on bridge management systems, infrastructure data analysis, and transportation asset management planning across North America, with opportunities to collaborate with our global advisory teams.This position primarily emphasizes bridge management and data-driven decision support rather than detailed structural design. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers and receive mentorship while developing technical and consulting skills.Candidates with greater levels of relevant experience are encouraged to apply; responsibilities and title may be adjusted based on qualifications and experience.Work ArrangementThis position may be structured as hybrid, in-office, or remote depending on project needs and candidate location.Travel ExpectationsTravel is not expected frequently for this role; however, occasional travel may be required based on project needs (e.g., client meetings, workshops, or periodic site/field visits). Anticipated travel is typically minimal and will vary depending on assignment.Role Responsibilities:Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Support bridge management system (BMS) implementations and asset management projectsAssist with bridge inventory management, preservation planning, and infrastructure data analysisWork under the guidance of senior engineers while progressively developing independent problem-solving skillsContribute to Transportation Asset Management Plans (TAMPs), risk and resiliency assessments, and strategic investment analysesCoordinate with bridge inspectors, software vendors, and internal team members to support project deliveryPrepare technical reports, presentations, meeting notes, and action itemsHelp incorporate safety, sustainability, resiliency, and equity considerations into asset management workflowsParticipate in team meetings and support business development efforts as needed.Candidate Qualifications:We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:Minimum 3 years of experience in bridge engineering, asset management, inspection, or related civil engineering workBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineFamiliarity with National Bridge Inventory (NBI) data, AASHTO bridge element concepts, or bridge inspection practices is preferredStrong Excel skills; exposure to Python programming or data analysis tools is a plus but not requiredExperience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or spatial data is a plusEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward PE licensure preferredExcellent written, communication, and teamwork skillsWhat We Offer:Mentorship and training in bridge management tools and consulting practicesOpportunity to work with a global engineering and advisory consultancyExposure to transportation asset management planning and infrastructure strategy projectsA collaborative environment supporting professional growth and career developmentBenefits & RewardAt Mott MacDonald, our employees have a stake and a voice in our business, providing them with a direct connection to our success through our personal and group performance bonuses.
