You will operate the laminating machine, maintain the rollers and materials, read and interpret job tickets and specifications, input the correct settings, monitor equipment, and troubleshoot any problems that arise during operation of the laminating machine.Essential Functions:Set-up & run high quality product at optimum speeds without supervisionAbility to load and unload rolls on/off the press with proper labeling and trackingQuality checks of every roll to maintain adhesive weightsInspect glue – make sure it meets specificationsAbility to clean up machineSecure laminated rolls together and secure the rolls to a pallet for shippingMaintain a high level of cleanliness to keep machine operableResponsible for condition of machine and work areaMaintain housekeeping standardsWork safely at all times.Competencies:Communication.Basic Standup Pallet Jack Operation.Performing General Physical Activities.Technical Capacity.Record-keeping skills.Quality Control Analysis.Troubleshooting.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in our climate-controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights.Physical Demands:The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.Continuous (6 or more hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping.Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, listening, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.Frequent (1 to 3 hours per day) work in a stooped position.Good eyesight, normal hearing.Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 50 lbs.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position on rotating 12-hour shifts (daytime shifts 6am-6pm; night-time shifts 6pm-6am). Days, nights, and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and production requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business.Travel: Travel is not required for this position.Required Education and Experience:High School diploma or GED.Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.Ability to read and write English.Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.Knowledge of equipment operation and/or maintenance.Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.Ability to perform simple arithmetic.Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.At least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Ability to troubleshoot complex issues with equipment operation.Capable of multi-tasking the operation of productionBenefits:Morris Packaging offers a comprehensive benefits package to provide the protection you need today and in the future.
