Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 3 Years OR Experience Required License: Compact RN License Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: - Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center Experience - Epic Experience - Experience with General, GU/GYN, Neuro, ENT, Plastics Cases Description: The role requires a registered nurse specializing in the operating room. This is a day shift position consisting of 12-hour shifts. The nurse will work in a level 1 trauma center. The contract length is for 13 weeks. The nurse will need to float between other operating rooms within the facility as needed. Weekend work may be required based on unit needs. On-call duties are also necessary approximately three shifts per eight-week schedule period. It is essential that candidates have a minimum of three years of operating room experience. Experience in a level 1 or 2 trauma center is mandatory. Knowledge and proficiency in using the Epic charting system are required. The nurse will be expected to handle a variety of surgical cases, including general surgery, gynecological, neurological, and plastic procedures. Candidates should be able to circulate for both elective and emergent surgeries, including craniotomies. There is a limitation on vacation and time-off requests during specified peak periods. This position does not accept first-time travelers. Travel experience is required for this role. The nurse should have previous exposure to handling a diverse patient demographic and high daily census. Successful candidates will also be expected to complete facility-specific training modules within a timely manner.
