As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing financial information, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budget preparation. The Staff Accountant performs various data gathering, tracking, and record keeping; financial forecasting, budgeting, and planning; preparing of financial schedules, statements, and reports. Performs related accounting and financial analyses in one or more financial areas including auditing, budgeting, cost accounting, general accounting, and program cost control and scheduling. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify financial data integrity. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and collections. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation. Utilize various financial software systems Perform data analysis using Excel to identify discrepancies, trends, or anomalies in financial data. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation. Knowledge of GAAP standards as well as governmental accounting practices is highly desirable. Strong numeracy skills coupled with excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry and analysis. Ability to perform complex Excel data analysis and generate reports efficiently. Experience with payroll management systems such as Paychex or Kronos is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and support audit processes.
