Business Analyst

Engagement Description:

• With general guidance and coaching, provides analytical support to a specific group of customers on business applications, infrastructure and technology related activities
• Acts as a project team member, specifically on requirements definition and testing activities
• Provides guidance, assistance, coordination, and follow-up on complex problems and ensures resolution
• Assists customers on their migration to new or revised products, applications, and platforms
• Works with application developers and operations personnel to support production applications and customer-specific operations

Projects include:

• Review, revise and implement LTACH network and contracting strategy for the HMO
• Review, revise and implement PPO network strategy for a yet to be specified ancillary service (e.g. ambulance, ASF, UC, HIT)
• Support RFP development and implementation of a laboratory prior authorization vendor
• Support review and implementation of a lab medical policy editing system
• The position will lead research, analysis and develop recommendations for executive leadership

• Strong analytic skills (both quantitative and qualitative)

• Excellent writing skills to communicate complex ideas to multiple audiences

• Excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; establish project plans, objectives to ensure goals are met
• Ability to organize, analyze projects and drive business requirements across the enterprise
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization
• Ability to develop and present to various stakeholders, internally and externally
• The effective initiative, ownership, and accountability

• Use of Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Significant creativity is required.

• PUBLIC HEALTH AND FINANCE BACKGROUND PREFERRED
• Knowledge of managed care concepts
• Working knowledge of data languages (SAS, SQL, etc)
