Customer Service Representative - Full Time

Job Description Borsheims is seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role is essential in delivering our Signature Service to every customer. The Customer Service Representative delivers Borsheims' signature service by supporting customers with jewelry services, transactions, and account inquiries. This role is responsible for processing repairs and service requests, handling payments through the POS system, responding to phone and text inquiries, and assisting with daily opening and closing procedures. The Customer Service Representative works closely with sales and support teams to ensure accurate service, secure handling of merchandise, and a positive, seamless customer experience. Job Duties Process customer jewelry services including repairs, cleanings, appraisals, and engravings Communicate service details, pricing, and timelines to customers Enter service jobs, sales transactions, and payments into the POS system Answer incoming phone calls and text messages and respond to customer inquiries Receive, document, and track merchandise through the service process Manage loose diamond inventory and complete daily reconciliations Perform daily opening and closing procedures including audits, cash handling, and deposits Provide point?of?sale support to sales staff and assist with service?related questions Follow established security and safety procedures when handling merchandise Experience And Skills Previous customer service or retail experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer?focused approach Attention to detail and ability to handle transactions accurately Comfort using POS systems and basic computer applications Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast?paced environment Trustworthy and responsible when handling merchandise and cash Willingness to learn jewelry services, products, and procedures Ability to work collaboratively with sales and support team Essential Job Functions Ability to work assigned schedule on a regular basis. Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to see well enough to read small print, identify merchandise, read a computer screen and printout, and count currency. Ability to hear and speak well enough to converse with others in person, via telephone and paging system. Ability to move about the store from department to department, get behind narrow counter areas, bend down or reach up into drawers/shelves, and climb a ladder to retrieve merchandise from shelves. Possess math skills to conduct transactions; ability to handle cash and to maintain and balance a cash drawer. Dexterity to write in small print, handle small jewelry/gift items. Ability to operate a computer keyboard and office equipment. Ability to work in a shop environment (i.e., elevated noise, minor dust, steamer, etc.). Stamina to stand for over eight hours.
