We are looking for a Purchasing Specialist to support procurement operations for a Contract position based in Cocoa, Florida. This role focuses on sourcing materials and services, managing purchase order activity, and helping maintain efficient purchasing workflows in a regulated environment. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activity by reviewing requests, creating purchase orders, and following transactions through completion.

• Source materials and services from approved suppliers while balancing cost, quality, and delivery requirements.

• Coordinate with internal teams to confirm specifications, quantities, and timelines before releasing orders.

• Monitor open orders, resolve delivery or documentation issues, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.

• Maintain accurate procurement records and support reporting related to purchasing performance and order activity.

• Apply established procurement practices and purchasing strategies to support operational needs and compliance expectations.

• Evaluate supplier performance and help identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and material availability.

• Experience supporting purchasing, procurement, or buyer functions in a business environment.
• Working knowledge of purchase order processing, supplier coordination, and material acquisition activities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in documentation and transaction records.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with vendors and cross-functional internal teams.
• Familiarity with purchasing strategies, procurement procedures, and routine purchasing management tasks.
• Proficiency with systems or tools used to track orders, maintain records, and support purchasing operations.
• Careful approach with sound problem-solving skills and the ability to follow established processes.
