Licensing Representative (Public Service Representative 3) The Oregon Board of Pharmacy regulates the practice of pharmacy and enforces laws regarding pharmacy staff, drug outlets, and the sale of drugs in Oregon. By licensing pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and pharmacy technicians, the Board ensures that only qualified people practice pharmacy in Oregon. The Board registers and inspects retail and hospital pharmacies and stores that sell over‑the‑counter drugs, as well as drug wholesalers, manufacturers, and all drug distribution in Oregon. What You’ll Do Provide customer service to a high volume of customers both in person and by phone, including handling upset or angry callers. Answer questions relating to more than 30 license categories and guide customers through online processes. Greet the public and all visitors to the agency and serve as the first‑level phone contact for incoming calls. Process incoming mail and issue and renew licensing documents. Enter and maintain accurate data in the licensing database, reviewing applications for applicability, completeness, and eligibility. Process accounts receivable, perform continuing‑education audits, and run background checks through the Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS). Scan and maintain electronic licensing files. The duties are performed in the Portland office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Minimum Qualifications Two years of customer‑service experience, including one year of explaining rules, regulations, and policies and handling unique or unusual situations. Excellent customer service skills. Agile, self‑starter, quick learner. Experience using a multi‑line phone system to answer a high volume of calls. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams. Payment processing and reconciliation experience. Demonstrated experience entering data into a database or customer‑record management system. Additional Requirements Background check: finalists will be subject to a computerized criminal history check. Required to obtain and maintain CJIS clearance. Required to obtain and maintain Oregon LEDS certification.
