Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have 2 years experience in specialty; okay with first-time travelers. Must have ventilatory skills.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Peds experience preferred but not required.

Unit Details: 50-75+ treatments per day depending on census. Days have 2 RTs for inpatient and 1 RT for outpatient; nights have 1 RT for inpatient. Mostly adult patients; ED may include adults, peds, neonates, and occasional L&D neonates. Covers inpatient, outpatient, and ED. Inpatient duties include vent management, ABG draws, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Nebs, MDIs, and Flutter/Airway Clearance. Outpatient duties include setting up nocturnal Pulse ox and blood gases. Intubation: assist only for now. One RT may be assigned to the ER and have a lighter load that day. Uses Meditech. Equipment includes Hamilton Medical C1 and C3 vents which do BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow O2, Masimo SoftFlow High Flows, Masimo Pulse Oximeters, GEM5000 ABG analyzer, and ResMed bedside CPAP/BiPAP. No supervisor, lead RT, or charge RT; manager is available 24/7. Hospitalist or intensivist is in house during the day and on call at night.

Shift & Scheduling: Rotating schedule: every Monday and Tuesday day shift; alternating Wednesday and Friday night shift. 5:45-615. Every other weekend. Holidays: will fill in where needed. Extra shifts may be available to cover vacation requests.

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)
