Registered Nurse RN ICU

Primary City/State: Tucson, Arizona Department: ICU/CCU-Hosp Work Shift: Night (7:00PM–7:30AM) Job Category: Nursing Position Summary As a Registered Nurse in a 13‑bed ICU/CCU unit, you will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for critically ill patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide evidence‑based care and manage specialized treatments/devices such as CRRT, intra‑aortic balloon pump, and Impella. Core Functions Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, reviewing history, diagnostics, and lab data to identify abnormal findings and communicate them promptly to physicians and caregivers. Develop patient‑specific plans of care, including discharge planning, with realistic, measurable goals in collaboration with the patient, family, and health team. Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the healthcare team, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed to achieve expected outcomes. Document all assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a timely, legible manner, and accurately note physician orders. Participate in unit or facility shared leadership, precepting, mentoring, and education of staff, patients, families, and visitors. Contribute to initiatives that improve patient outcomes, quality indicators, and safety practices, including participation in professional organizations. In certain roles, supervise staff and workflow within the department. Collaborate with all levels of staff across departments, physicians, and external agencies, including clergy, to support patient and family needs. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or applicable temporary/interim/compact RN license). BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required based on area of practice. At least one year of acute‑care experience in the past 12 months, including ICU or PCU exposure preferred. Ability to operate a personal vehicle and maintain valid driver’s license if required for Home Health or travel positions. Complete required fingerprint clearance and criminal history affidavits as applicable to the position. Demonstrated competency in clinical performance competencies through annual validations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Professional certifications (e.g., CCRN, CNS) preferred.
