Patient Care Technician

DaVita is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patients with end-stage renal disease in an outpatient dialysis clinic in the greater South Bend area.

• As a PCT, you'll provide direct, hands-on care under RN supervision, helping patients through life-sustaining dialysis treatment.
• Discover a day in the life of a PCT and learn how our PCTs & RNs cannulate patients to start dialysis .

Schedule Requirements

• Not flexible: All Teammates are required to work M-Sa, 3-4 shifts / week, rotating opening & closing shifts, working every other Saturday.
• Operating Hours: 4:45A - 7:30P Monday - Saturday
• Scheduled Shift Start & End Hours: 4:00A start - 9:00P close
• Shift Length: All shifts are 8, 10, or 12hrs depending on the day and the need.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, hygienic, and compassionate dialysis care
• Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment
• Set up and maintain dialysis equipment
• Record vital signs and patient data
• Educate patients on treatment and kidney health
• Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other care team members

Requirements

• Accredited High School diploma, general education development ("GED") credential, or equivalent
• Comfortable around blood, needles, and medical equipment
• Physically able to work long shifts on your feet
• Willing to float between local clinics if needed
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Preferred: CNA, MA, CHT, phlebotomy certification, or healthcare experience
• Must pass a drug screen and background check
