We strive to be an employer that you can be proud to be part of.We have immediate full time openings and are searching for new team members to join our Production Department in Portland as a Grinder & Shredder operator. These are entry level opportunities that are supported by a team that will train you to perform in our unique environment.What you can expect to be doing:This position is "hands on" and the individual should have a self-starter mindset.Setting up the equipment for production following the schedule to fulfill our customer orders.The majority of your shift will involve operating large equipment such as shredders and grinders.Manually load and unload product into and out of equipment.Material Handlers are regularly on their feet, monitoring, adjusting and attentively aware of the equipment they are operating.Forklifts are used to transfer material within the production floor - please note this is not a full-time forklift position.Responsible for executing all safety protocols - safety is critical to everyone's success.What we are looking for in our hires:Our successful candidates are self-starters who are willing to learn!Have a strong work ethic - dependable and demonstrate good attendanceAble to work a 12-hour night shift (7 pm to 7 am)Our work schedule rotates every 2 weeks: 36 hours one week & 48 hours second week (schedule includes every other weekend)Able to meet the physical qualifications for this position which include:Lift, push, or pull up to 50 poundsStanding for an extended period of timeLift, throw, bend, squat, twist, and reachWorking in both hot and cold conditionsMust be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorshipNeed to be able to read, write and understand EnglishBasic computer knowledge is a plusPrevious manufacturing experience is a plus, but not necessaryMechanically inclined with an attention to detailLastly, have a positive attitude and be willing to assist others when needed. What Ultra-Poly Offers:Starting rate of up to $20.50 an hour (incl. overtime and shift differential)Performance reviews every 6 monthsBetter work life balance with 12-hour shifts and 7 days off in a 2-week period.Growth opportunities and on the job trainingWeekly pay (via direct deposit)Paid Vacation and HolidaysMedical, dental and vision coverage100% company-paid disability, life, and AD&D insurance401k after 1 year with a generous company matchQuarterly attendance bonusesEmployee referral bonusesSafety bonusesand more...Ultra-Poly is a place where you can stop searching for a job, because you actually found a place where you are comfortable and can begin your next career.
