Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: 2+ years License: Valid RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: 2 years of nursing experience Experience working with tracheostomy patients Description: This position involves working in a step-down and med-surg unit. The unit consists of 23 step-down beds and 16 med-surg beds. The staff includes 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, and 4 patient care technicians on the day shift. On the night shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, and 4 patient care technicians. Patient ratios are 1:3-4 for step-down and 1:4-6 for med-surg. Equipment includes lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, stable vented patients, and tracheostomy care. Experience with EMR systems is preferred, specifically Cerner. Typical procedures include tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and a high level of clinical competence. Weekend shifts will be required, with a total of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period.
