Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital, requiring TNCC certification and a minimum of 2 years of ED experience.

Details

• Emergency Department (ED) setting at a Level I Trauma, academic teaching hospital with 228 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) and holiday coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may be required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting system: Cerner Sorian (1st generation) — experience preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Triage experience required
• SSN, date of birth (DOB), and a copy of driver's license required for consideration
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration

Additional Information

• 13-week contract (approximately)
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year to be eligible
• Parking is at the candidate's expense; options include street meter parking, daily/weekly/monthly hospital parking, and convenient public transportation access via Metro (Shaw/Howard University stop on the Green and Yellow lines) and multiple bus routes
