Material HandlerThe Material Handler supports continuous production by supplying machines with raw materials, moving finished products to downstream departments, and handling all associated material movements throughout the facility. This role operates sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks, verifies incoming and outgoing materials for accuracy and quality, and maintains a clean and safe work area on a 2nd/3rd shift schedule.ResponsibilitiesSupply production machines with raw materials to ensure continuous and efficient production flow.Remove finished products from production machines and deliver them to wash and packaging departments.Operate sit-down forklifts (hi-lo) and pallet jacks to move parts safely through the manufacturing process.Load and unload customer and company trucks as needed, following all safety and handling procedures.Transport parts to and from the Inspection Department in a timely and accurate manner.Verify incoming and outgoing materials to confirm correct quantity and acceptable quality.Use RF scanners and related equipment to support material handling, inventory movement, and order pulling.Perform general material handling duties such as stocking the production line with raw goods and organizing materials.Maintain housekeeping standards by keeping work areas clean, orderly, and free of debris.Follow all facility safety rules, equipment operating procedures, and dress code requirements.Work overtime, including mandatory Saturday and Sunday shifts when required, to support production demands.Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, including using the call-in line to report absences or issues as required.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of sit-down forklift (hi-lo) operating experience in a manufacturing facility (not distribution or logistics).Proven experience stocking production lines with raw goods in a manufacturing environment.Ability to operate sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and related material handling equipment safely and efficiently.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.Experience with material handling, loading and unloading trucks, and moving large parts.Familiarity with RF scanners for inventory movement, order pulling, and material tracking.Demonstrated work history with at least 8 months or more of tenure in previous roles.Basic ability to verify material quantities and visually assess product quality.Willingness and ability to work 2nd/3rd shift from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.Flexibility to work 50 hours per week and perform mandatory overtime on Saturdays and Sundays when needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in a manufacturing environment handling large parts.Comfort working in a facility with dim lighting and moderate machine noise.Strong attention to detail when verifying incoming and outgoing materials.Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance.Ability to follow detailed safety, housekeeping, and dress code requirements.Willingness to adapt to changing production needs and material flow priorities.Why Work Here?You will join a clean, recently updated manufacturing facility that values safety, organization, and reliable production. Overtime is common, and Saturdays and Sundays may be mandatory when production requires it. The facility has dim lighting, is not excessively loud, and uses newer machines to process large parts. The building was recently cleaned, providing a more organized and tidy environment. You will regularly operate sit-down forklifts (hi-lo), pallet jacks, and RF scanners while moving materials through the manufacturing process. The dress code requires oil-resistant or steel-toe shoes, no cutoffs, hats worn forward only, and no hoods or loose clothing for safety. The schedule includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch and a 20-minute paid break. A call-in line is available for reporting absences or communicating issues in line with attendance policies.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fraser, MI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
