Position: Machine Tool Sales Representative

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL

Salary: $45K-$65K per year (DOE) + Commission

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Overview

Our client ( A Japanese machinery manufacturer in Grove Village IL ) is seeking a motivated Machine Tool Sales Representative to join our team, focusing on the Midwest region. This role offers opportunities for both experienced professionals who can contribute immediately and entry-level candidates with a solid foundation in machine tools and strong motivation to grow in sales.

Key Responsibilities

Promote and sell machine tools (e.g., horizontal boring mills, large/small lathes, grinding machines)
Manage existing accounts while developing new customer relationships (99% non-Japanese clients)
Conduct customer needs assessments and provide tailored product proposals and quotations
Travel to visit clients (1-2 times per month, typically one week per trip)
Report directly to the General Manager

Qualifications

Required

Basic knowledge of machine tools
Strong persistence and enthusiasm in customer engagement
Ability to conduct business in English (Japanese proficiency not mandatory but an advantage)

Preferred

Previous experience in a machine tool manufacturer
Experience in trading companies handling machine tools
Sales or distribution experience in horizontal boring mills, lathes, or grinding machines
Ability to work as an immediate contributor in sales
