Job Details

• Job Title: Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Location: Lincoln, Nebraska 68526
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts with night call coverage
• Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,830-$3,030
• Call Coverage: Includes phone calls and emergent OR cases

Physician Assistant Job Requirements

• Board Certified Physician Assistant
• Active Nebraska PA license or IMLC with LOQ in hand
• At least 1 year of experience in cardiothoracic surgery, surgical first assist, or a closely related OR setting
• Proficiency in the OR as a first assist
• Experience with vein harvesting required
• Experience with CT surgery cases
• EPIC experience strongly preferred
• Clean malpractice history preferred
• Availability at time of name clear required

Responsibilities

• Assist in the OR for cardiothoracic surgical cases
• Perform vein harvesting as part of surgical procedures
• Provide first assist support to the surgical team
• Cover night call, including phone triage and emergent OR cases
• Collaborate with surgeons and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
• Document patient care and clinical activities in the EMR
